This builds on top of #1730. I recommend merging that one, then rebasing this one off
mainbefore working on this. It will make this PR far easier to review and work on.This PR adds exactly one commit (4e50aaf) on top of #1730, and most (if not all) of the remaining work should be in
cargo-dist/src/init/interactive.rs.I got as much finished as I could.
git grep 'FIXME(v1)'will show you the unfinished parts.
