Describe the feature

I would suggest to introduce a pyproject.toml file and using uv incl. a uv.lock.

Why do you need this feature?

pyproject.toml file became somehow the standard within the python world and uv as well. Later other fancy tools such as ruff could be introduced.

Additional context

We are ready to contribute this.
