Environment

  • TeXstudio: 4.8.5
  • Qt: 6.8.2
  • OS: Linux Fedora 41. -->
  • TeX distribution: texlive

Expected Behavior

Underscores should remain consistently visible at all times.

Actual Behavior

Underscores intermittently disappear while scrolling. However, if scrolling continues, they reappear.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open any document.
  2. Scroll up or down.
  3. Observe that underscores may disappear and then reappear upon further scrolling.

A big thank you to whoever sees this. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. I really enjoy TeXstudio

Is there anything special I should know about the way to scroll? I scroll with the mouse wheel. I can't reproduce with win 10 with current build.

The desktop environment is Gnome 47. Solved the issue by cycling thought the options

  1. options/advanced editor -> untick "Try to automatically choose best display options"
  2. options/advanced editor/render mode -> QT
  3. options/advanced editor/render mode -> QCE (recommended)
  4. options/advanced editor -> tick "Try to automatically choose best display options"

No idea what was going on but the issue is not preset anymore
