Hi there, I am a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics and the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Amsterdam. My research lies at the intersection of behavioural science, sustainability, and statistics. I aim to bridge methodological rigor with applied societal impact, focusing on identifying behavioural and policy-level interventions that can help societies stay within planetary boundaries. During my PhD, I worked on Bayesian hypothesis testing, causal inference from observational data, and early warning signals of tipping points.

In addition to my academic work, I am involved with Polder, an initiative that brings complex systems thinking to the policymaking process. I am also deeply concerned about the climate emergency and used to be very active with Scientist Rebellion. I am an organizer of the annual Amsterdam Complexity School on Climate Change and in the past have been involved in initiatives that use data and data science to advance the social good, co-founding CorrelAid Nederland, Science versus Corona, and joining the Data Science for Social Good Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University in 2022.

I greatly enjoy teaching and have given workshops on a variety of topics, including Bayesian statistics, causal inference, and climate action. I always strive to make the learning experience fun and engaging. If you want me to give a workshop on any of these topics, please get in touch.
