With Chrome deprecating the swiftshader fallback- plans to allow for non-webgl experience? #1512

I seem to be getting deprecation warnings which make sense:

This could impact a fair number of users. Any plan to resurrect the old canvas rendering for an option if webgl doesn't exist?

Oh, I didn't know about this, thanks for the info!
Unfortunately, we've tried in the past to maintain both canvas and WebGL APIs, and it went very poorly. So there is no plan to go back to this state at the moment.

One thing that might maybe change our mind, would be to get some idea of the number of users that might be impacted by this Chrome update. But unfortunately I can't find anything on that... Do you have any info on that @epchristi?
