This might be related but on Android TV theres always a black screen (which shows for approx 5 seconds), when trying to load a video. Strangely the video doesn't actually buffer when playing as of 0.21.9 but only in the beginning when clicking on and opening a video.

Just as a meta thing can we please request more users to join as Android TV testers as it's kinda only B0pol and I.

Looks like a device specific/OS specific issue.
We need more infos (logs) here to diagnose the problem, however the author deleted his/her account.

Closing the issue.

@mihaiolimpiu

Use logcat which is shipped with ADB

There are a bunch of manuals available online (searching for android get logs returns some good results), e.g:

@litetex: First of all sorry for the very late response with the current situation this was the last thing on my mind, but here goes:
Philips 49PUS6482, Android TV 8, NewPipe 0.22.2
adb logcat | findstr org.schabi.newpipe
findstr org.schabi.newpipe.txt

As aditional info:
If you stay on same automated queue screen as OP posted and you you play with forward, back commands, next videos are playing ok.
Whole thing starts over after leaving the queue screen.

I followed the instructions in #8829 and used the debug builds from #8839 to disable media tunneling, in the debug settings as per @AudricV mentioned.
Yes, I can confirm that everything is working as expected with 0.23.3 Debug build with Media Tunneling disabled.

Maybe it's important to mention that after the video turns black, selecting another video from the queue crashes the app with this log (app provided).

@mihaiolimpiu Could you please open a new issue with all these details? I'm closing this one since OP is a ghost.

@opusforlife2 opusforlife2 closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Aug 31, 2022
